Carnage is a supervillain appearing in Marvel Comics, primarily associated with Spider-Man. He first appeared in The Amazing Spider-Man #360 (1992).
Carnage is the offspring of the Venom symbiote. When Venom's host, Eddie Brock, was cellmates with the sociopathic serial killer Cletus Kasady, the Venom symbiote reproduced asexually. This new symbiote bonded with Kasady, creating Carnage.
Unlike Venom, the Carnage symbiote is bonded directly to Kasady's bloodstream. This grants Carnage a greater degree of control and makes him significantly more violent and unstable. He is driven by chaos and destruction.
